I have a new site that sits in a subdirectory of the old site.

1 - The old site is still live.

2 - I installed and activated the 301 redirect plugin and filled in all the blanks.

3 - Once saved something strange happened.

4 - The TOP level of the main menu started throwing an error.

5 - However - the submenu links under the top level of the main menu work fine.

6 - The error I get is this:
    The page isn't redirecting properly
Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete.
This problem can sometimes be caused by disabling or refusing to accept cookies.

7 - Now - here is an example of a top level menu links that break:

    /why-renaldo http://sunshine.org/newsite/why-renaldo/

8 - The first entry is relative to the current site http://sunshine.org/why-renaldo

9 - The second entry is the absolute link to the new page.

I DO have better wp security activate - but have the htaccess writeable.

I'm stumped. Can anyone help me with this? Thanks!
