I doubt this is a compatibility issue, but I'm kind of a neophyte here, and have no idea how to fix my problem. I put the sidebar login widget on the sidebar. But when I try to login with my administrator credentials from, I'm told that my password is incorrect. I've tried it a dozen times; the password works if I go to my regular wp-admin page, but not from the widget. Did I misinterpret what this plugin is designed to do?

I'm having exactly the same problem! Thanks for reporting this.

I've been seeing this too, on a new site I've been building ... it occurs most often when I'm using Firefox (version 8), but has also occurred using Chrome.

Same here! I use Opera and Firefox
Sidebar Login version 2.2.15 still works fine for me with WP 3.3.1
I just find the update reminders frustrating and have now installed 2.3.4 on three occasions both automatically and manually to no avail - error message 'incorrect password for admin'.
I had a very similar problem with some other plugins that provide login widgets. It turned out that the problem was caused by a conflict with a database cache plugin I was using. Caching database queries caused some passwords to fail until some event reset the cache. Here's a link to a discussion with all the details; the last post may be the most helpful:
