It's been very lovely to find and use this for very long time. Anyway, can the plugin capture the post title or given a custom title to show under the picture when viewing?

You already have this option. Just give the image a title tag.
    <a href=".../imagename.jpg" title="caption you want to display"><img ..></a>

I would like for there to be an option that it uses the image name by default in the case that the title tag isn't present. For now I just modified the js file.

Rather than using the image name, or requiring a title tag in the link, it would be more sensible to use the "caption" option provided within wordpress.
