    Hey 2xyo

Yes it is in the path to add the “interactive” share buttons, should be comming in the next few releases, hopefully by next weekend.

Please can you help me to understand why would I want to add goog.gl when that is a character longer than using bit.ly and I only use shortening on the twitter links where space is a premium.

    All the best

    Great 🙂 Thank you

Maybe because i wrote goog.gl instead of goo.gl ! It’s the same length.
In addition, i suggest that somme peoples prefer this service (features, design, it’s new…, google addict..). But the official API is not ready :/

    Hey 2xy0,

the main reason I use bit.ly at the moment is the API. I’m gonna check out the status of goo.gl and see how it looks right now.

got to be honest I would rather stick to a non-google product this time as google have the habit recently of closing down services (see google wave) because they are not able to come to a business model that makes money, thus my liking of bit.ly as that is their only business and therefore will be fight tooth and nail to keep it theirs.

Speaking of google products, I’m looking to ramp up greatly the feedburner support soon, with also using the hooks that do the rss and other feeds. Lots of users find this very important.

Also I am adding mobile support, so you can turn bits on and off based on the user that is coming…. i.e. turning off the print button for iphone/ipod/ipad

And a few other things like a CDN upgrade coming very soon, which for 6.99 euro per year will make the plugin use my CDN for your site (speed up your site considerably) and also access to 10 new (I think it is) icon sets when we launch it, growing to more as the time moves on. Our First focus is the halloween celebrations just round the corner 🙂 And Neville the icon guy loves to make things that are not just copies of each other, but different personalties to each icon.

There will be cheaper deals for this for developers and web hosting companies so that they can provide this personalisation to their clients, thus making their jobs so much easier and make their clients feel that much more special.

I hope that this gives you an idea of where we are going, and will always welcome feature request to go with our own plans.

    All the best
    Andy

    How about including Bebo? 🙂

… and maybe making printing work a bit like the Print Friendly plugin?

Love the plugin, by the way…

Bebo now added for sharing and following. Will be looking extending print services after we have things like auto-publishing to FB/Twitter/Orkut/etc… sorted out. We’re looking at giving the admin/author more capabilities.

Also you’ll see that we’ve got the CDN live now with loads of icon sets on there. I’m personally really happy with the christmass ones I added today.

    regards

    Thank you very much !

    Good job !

Goo.gl have released their API, and here’s how you implement it: Using Google’s URL Shortener (goo.gl) in WordPress.

kovshenin did you read my post saying that I am not in favour of using google products as they have a habit of disappearing quickly and will be sticking to bit.ly?

And what do you expect me to do with the link? jump into action and create it for you? How about you make the code and send it to me.

kovshenin , hummm.. I am now eating humble pie. I will look at implementing your code at some point.
