Request: add role/permissions settings (4 posts)

First of all, thanks for a great plugin.

That said, I have a small suggestion. It would be nice to allow non-admin users (i.e. editors) to access some of the options in the SEO menu, since many times I have content uploaders which are very concerned about SEO. (I know they can edit SEO options per page, but using that menu makes the job way easier.)

I checked the code and found out that I can easily change the capability limitation for the whole plugin, but doing that would show to everyone the Modules option, which should always be restricted to admins only. I guess I could accomplish it by going a little deeper, but I wouldn't like to alter the plugin core code that much.

Are you planning to add role/permissions support eventually?

    Thanks again,

    Ricardo

    Hi Ricardo

I was wondering how you allowed Editor access to the SEO plugin?

    Thanks

I didn't, I ended up switching to WordPress SEO (http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wordpress-seo/) for a couple of different reasons.

I don't know if this plugin has now that functionality; in case it still doesn't, you would need to edit its core code, search for the part where the admin menu is created, and change the minimum capability required to access it. Of course, you would lose this changes with every update, so it's not really a recommended course of action.

Perhaps it's possible to overwrite that configuration from outside the plugin (with some code placed in a functions.php file or an external custom-made plugin of your own). I didn't that much dig into it, but if you really need this to work, it's worth a shot.

That's too bad, I'd like to see that feature built in as well.
