having a bit of a problem with my titles, which i assume is all coming from a single screw-up of my own somewhere! :)

    My site is ToonBarn.com

The title tag for my homepage, as listed in the title tag rewriter module, is: "Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon, Ben 10, Cartoon News, Free Online Games | ToonBarn, ToonBarn.com | Pokemon, SpongeBob, Phineas and Ferb" (I know it's too long, just testing some stuff for now)

When you view the source code of my homepage, that is what comes up, as well.

However, if you simply google my site, toonbarn.com, google lists the homepage's title as: ToonBarn - toonbarn.com.

Similarly, I have a Pokemon section of my site at toonbarn.com/pokemon. the title tag rewiter, and the page's source code, both say: Pokemon Black and White, Ash, Pikachu, Nintendo DS 3DS | Pokemon Games

However, if you google "toonbarn and pokemon", google tells you my page title is "Pokemon Black and White, Ash, Pikachu ... - ToonBarn - toonbarn.com"

in otherwords, the "Toonbarn - toonbarn.com" part is being crammed in from some source; replaceing my homepage's title and attaching itself to other pages.

    where'd I go wrong...?

Hey, you didn't actually do anything wrong. Sometimes Google will change your title based on the search query. For example if you search for "Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon, Ben 10, Cartoon News, Free Online Games | ToonBarn, ToonBarn.com | Pokemon, SpongeBob, Phineas and Ferb" it will come up in the serps with the correct title.

I believe the reason why is because google wants to return titles that are relevant to the search query. If someone is searching for "ToonBarn" the CTR is probably much higher if the title is relevant, rather than "Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon, Ben 10, Cartoon News, Free Online Games | ToonBarn, ToonBarn.com | Pokemon, SpongeBob, Phineas and Ferb".

I had this happening to one of my sites as early as 2004 or 2005, so it's nothing new. Don't worry about it :)
