Have enabled everything I can see but no captcha appears. Am being plagued by fake comments so would like it to work!

Sabre is not designed for comments protection against spam but to avoid false users to register to your site. Not surprising if it doesn’t work on the comment panel !

Apologies for the mis-understanding of the nature, I see now! Thanks. I have now ticked the “must register to make comments” box, and lo, there it is :). Have amended the vote.

For others as daft as me…the mistake I was making was the by default WordPress allows “instant registration with a comment”, which allows automated ‘bots to both register a daft/obscene username with a link to some shady website and tops off with a bizarre comment.

The first step to stop such non-sense is to go to Settings, Discussion and tick “Users must be registered and logged in to comment”. This forces manual registration (human) and is where Sabre displays.
