Role Scoper
[resolved] Conflict with Custom Post Type UI (5 posts)

Everything works perfectly except only Administrators can see the new post types on the dashboard, they are not visible for Editors. If I disable Role Scoper the new post types are visible on the dashboard.

Not having much luck figuring out which plugin isn't working correctly, so any pointers on how to figure out what is happening would be greatly appreciated.

Role Scoper forces each custom post type to require a unique set of capabilities and does not assume WP Editors should edit all types.

You can define access as follows:

    * go to Roles > General

    * give the group "[WP Editor]" an editor role for each desired post type ("Thing Editor", "Doohickie Editor", etc.)

Works great. I suppose I really should put a bit more effort into understanding how the plugin works. So much to do, so little time.

    Thank you!

    Hello kevinB

I am also having an issue using it with custom Post types. And I will be thankful if you can help me solve this issue.

This is a website I am working on:
    http://clients.ingenious-web.com/joytv/

You will notice that it has 2 post types one is default Blog posts and the other is VIDEO posts.

I need to add each member to be assigned with each category so that he can only add/edit/delete his posts and can not access any other stuff.

I found your plugin very helpful in this, but the problem I am having is that it is not showing any option / working for the Categories of Video posts.

All the options are visible when I go and edit the categories of simple blog posts but there is no option available when I go and edit the categories of VIDEO posts.

and so the video posts categories are also not showing when I go to Restriction > Categories Or any other area of your plugin.

I hope I have explained my issue well. Please let me know for any question. I will be waiting for your kind response.

OR any one can help me out, I will be thankful.

    Thanks,
    Munir

I'm not sure what you mean by "there is no option available when I go and edit the categories of VIDEO posts"

If you mean they don't show up in Roles > Options > Realm, see the note there behind the "problems with types / taxonomies" link.

How are you registering your custom types and taxonomies?
