An issue just popped up yesterday morning that’s driving me crazy, and I need to fix asap.
As of yesterday morning, I can only see a new post if I’m logged in to WordPress as Admin. I’ve confirmed this with other people – they can only see the post if they’re logged in to WordPress as well. The post has all the correct settings - Status is Published, Visibility is Public, Category is correct. I even tried creating several new test posts - but same issue. All old posts (created before yesterday morning) all appear fine. This issue is consistent between browsers, e.g. I have to be logged in to WP in Firefox to see the post in Firefox. Same thing in Chrome and IE.
Now, yesterday morning, I had installed then de-installed two permissions-based plug-ins. I was trying to customize the roles in WP for another website. These plug-ins were installed on a completely different WordPress site, but on the same web server.
The plug-ins didn’t provide what I needed, so I removed them. The two plug-ins were:
- http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/role-scoper/
Is it coincidence that the problem started after de-installing these two plug-ins from a different site? Could they have done something to the server itself? Any sort of caching or htaccess issues? I don’t have direct access to the server, I would have to go through our IT dept for server-related issues.
Any help is much appreciated!
Rick
