[resolved] [Plugin: Robots Meta] robots meta settings are not changing on pages (14 posts)

When I try to change the robots meta settings in a page, they don't, it stays on "index, follow".

for example, I change to the radio button of "noindex, nofollow", then I click "Update Page". when the Editing page is reloaded, it shows that the setting got back to "index, follow".

so annoying, this is the primary job of the plugin I think and sadly isn't working :(

I outlined a fix for this problem in another topic.

    Webstractions, it did not work.

I will try the other suggestions on that topic.

    This worked:

    - Deactivate the Robots Meta plugin.
    - Delete the plugin files.
    - Download Robots meta v 3.0.11 from here:
    http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/robots-meta/download/
    direct link:
    http://downloads.wordpress.org/plugin/robots-meta.3.0.11.zip
    - upload this version, and activate.
    - test on a page.
    - upgrade plugin automatically.

Thanks Webstractions for linking to that topic.

I think it did not work because you needed to save the settings within the plugin to actually initiate the function that creates the new column in the post table. My bad.

Good to see you got it working though.

I was able to fix my system as outlined above, but if you install the latest version of Robots-Meta plugin, it does not create a new column in the posts database no matter what you do.

I have been looking at this today to try and figure out where the problem is.

Overall, shouldn't someone either fix this or roll back the latest version plugin to one that works? I would guess that there are many people using this plugin that aren't verifying that the values are being saved (probably their problem, but still...) and they aren't getting any benefit from this great plugin.

    Just a thought...

    Still doesn't work in 3.2.4

When you go to Page or Post Edit and change Robot Meta: to
    noindex, follow and Update.
And it returns again default: index, follow

I am using 3.2.5 also, and have the same problem. Joost any solutions to this?

I am wondering if it clash with other plugins like All-In-One SEO plugins...

    Any advice?

3.2.5 doesn't work. Let me know when it does. It is a nice option, but it seems too difficult to maintain...
