    hello,
thank you very much for this plugin, it sounds great, it's exactly what i'm looking for.
I have installed it, but my excerpt field simply dissapeared, it's not showing in screen options either. could it be a conflict with some other plugin, or any other reason.
any help will be greatly appreciated.
    thanks a lot

What version of WordPress are you using?

The plugin removes the excerpt meta box from the editing page, then adds its own to replace it using wp_editor(). In doing so, the screen option to show/hide the excerpt meta box will not appear (because WordPress no longer thinks the excerpt meta box exists, which, strictly speaking, it doesn't). The rich text editor for excerpts is added using wp_editor(), which was only introduced in WordPress version 3.3, and cannot be added in a meta box (see the readme).

This is a great plugin - exactly what I've been looking for. Thanks so much for your time on building this.

I'm using WP 3.4.1 and this plugin worked for a while. However, recently, I'm experiencing the same thing as dakinibilyana, where the excerpt field disappeared from the editing page. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance!

In regard to my post above, I removed the All-in-One SEO plugin I was using and the excerpt field reappeared. I believe this is where the conflict is. Is there any way around this? I'd love to be able to use both plugins.

    Thanks in advance!

    Hi nofcna,

I think I have identified the bug here - the plugin adds the excerpt field in a div which is given the postbox-container class. This class has styles associated with it which I thought would be beneficial to the display of the field, but it causes unexpected behaviour under some circumstances. I'll fix this in the next release of the plugin within the next week or so.

I've just released version 1.1 of this plugin which should resolve this issue - I have it running alongside All-in-one SEO and it is OK. Any feedback is welcome!
