[Plugin: Revision Control] Minor Problem — No Delete Button!

    I really appreciate this plugin, which provides essential functionality that is missing from native WordPress installations. Unfortunately, I am having a couple of minor problems:

    1. The current version is 2.0, but I got 2.0.1. What’s up with that?

    2. There’s a known problem with 2.0.1 missing the Delete button. I found a fix in another post and applied it successfully, but this really should be fixed in the next update. Otherwise, I’ll have to keep on patching this myself every time I update the plugin.

    I used the PHP fix (by rayfusci and tff, near the end), and it worked fine with WordPress 3.1.

    Greetings fwchapman: Glad the plugin is working for you with WP 3.1. I downloaded 2.0.1 version of Revision Control Plugin to my PC, then applied above patch for “Delete Button” problem. Uploaded modified .zip to WP 3.1 and activated plugin. Config screen is available under Settings, but I cannot find “Revisions Meta Box” as given in Screenshots example or any screen to Display/Remove/Restore Page or Post revisions. I’m fairly new to WP – what am I missing? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Greetings rsstevelex! Glad you were able to install a patched version of the plugin. I feel your pain about not being able to find the Revisions Meta Box. I had the same problem finding something else once, and it was very frustrating until I found the answer on a forum: Go to the top of the Edit Page/Post screen and click on the Screen Options tab. Now click on the Post Revisions box. Close the Screen Options and go down to the bottom of the Edit screen. You’ll see the Revisions Meta Box there.

    fwchapman: You’re exactly right. I had also posted on the plugin forum at: “http://dd32.id.au/wordpress-plugins/revision-control/” and received same helpful tip from DD32. Many thanks Fred!
