Restrict Categories
Suggestion: Expand to Also Use Taxonomies (5 posts)

Restrict Categories is *almost* exactly what I need, but I'm using a custom taxonomy. Have you given any thought to expanding the plugin to also work with taxonomies other than categories?

    A couple of questions:

    1. Are these taxonomies on custom post types?
    2. Are you looking for it to restrict non-hierarchical taxonomies such as Tags?
    3. If yes to #2, are you also looking to restrict based on custom post types?

I will certainly look into this. Thanks for the suggestion!

    1. Nope, I created a new tax for regular posts and pages. No new post types.
    2. No, hierarchical only.
    3. Nope again. :)

My need is pretty simple... I have a dozen or so authors, each one responsible for a different subject. I would like each user restricted to that subject (the custom tax). However, I don't want to use the built in Categories taxonomy for this, because they need to be able to share categories.

    Thanks... and Roll Tide!

Hey! How are things going with this idea? I would love to see it implemented!

To be honest, I haven't had a chance to work on it because I focused attention on my latest plugin, Visual Form Builder, but I do plan to at some point.
