There are several plugins which will automatically take either the oldest post in your blog or a random post from it and republish them with a new date.

I’m looking for something like that, but I need the ability to schedule certain posts on certain days in the future instead of having it done automatically. For example, let’s say I have a post for Labor Day and I want to run it every Labor Day. As WordPress works now, I’ll have to arrange to be at my computer and manually republish it at the exact time on Labor Day that I want it to run, which means I can’t take that holiday off from my websites.

I’m pretty sure no such plugin exists (I’ve searched long and hard). Does anyone know of a way to make this happen? Or would any plugin writers be willing to write something?

This is pretty much exactly what I’m looking for too, would love to see this developed!

Does anyone even have a clue what such a plugin would involve? Like, which aspects of WordPress would have to be manipulated? For example, is it just a matter of getting the future con job to NOT hide the post until the “future publish” date? Even that info might help me write something myself, or hack an existing plugin, or find someone I could hire to develop such a plugin.
