Hi, I'm using last version of the plugin and of WP.
When I search for just one word it works fine, but when I do a larger search returns no results.

    Any idea?
    Thanks!

Somebody had a similar problem where searching for "Iron Man" worked but searching for "Iron Man 2" didn't. I don't know what causes this, but it might be a resource problem, maybe having two search terms consumes enough memory to make the search fail?

Unfortunately I don't have a solution for the problem, as I've never witnessed it myself.

    Hi msaari:
My blog has more than 3000 posts and maybe that's the cause..
    Thanks

That is certainly possible. My biggest blog has just 1400 posts or so, so that's how much I've been testing. Relevanssi hasn't been optimized at all, so I'm sure it could be made more efficient.

Have you tried turning off all extra features like custom excerpt creation and search term highlighting?

Yes, I've tried. If you need some beta tester with a big blog you can write me to correo(at)pandeblog.org

    Thanks

seems there are some function added into wordpress 3.x that create this error. Another search plugin has the same issue: https://core.sproutventure.com/issues/1118

Unfortunately that doesn't apply to Relevanssi, because Relevanssi creates its own MySQL queries, WordPress isn't allowed near them.

I'm using last version of the plugin and of WP 3.0.
if I use : "www.mysite.com/search/commonterm+commonterm" return to not found or no results, if i use "www.mysite.com/search/commonterm commonterm" search results appear. + sign is the problem???

i just want both of permalinks above work perfectly, both of them have search results. any ideas?

Both behave identically when I test them. The plus sign shouldn't be a problem. So, as long as I'm not able to reproduce error, it's hard to say. I do have some + searches on my blog in the list of recent failed searches, but that's probably a relic of the time when the plugin wasn't removing punctuation properly.

I do have some reports that indicate that stripping the punctuation isn't always working properly, so that's a likely cause - perhaps it is a question of server setup or PHP version or something like.
