Relevanssi - A Better Search
Searching for certain words causes fatal error or blank page (6 posts)

In my search results for the site at http://www.etables1798.com, everything works wonderfully until I search for very particular words. The first word I noticed is "discerning" (no quotes), where instead of a standard search results I am given either a blank html page or a fatal error that looks something like "Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 67108864 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 65536 bytes) in /home/sisterso/public_html/wp-includes/wp-db.php on line 1121".

Oddly, most other words work correctly, but not all. I can search for "discern" no problem, but searching for "dis" or "discer" or "discerni" leads to the same blank page/fatal error issue.

I tried rebuilding the Relevanssi index and got a fatal error after it had indexed about 600 entries. I was able to build a complete index by going back in and clicking "Continue indexing." However, this made no difference in being able to search for "discerning." I also cleared all caches, but this made no difference either.

Do you have any idea at all what could cause something like this?

Well, if it does say out of memory, then it's most likely caused by server running out of memory. Do you use fuzzy search? Try turning it off and see if that helps.

I'm having weird things going on with my search too. The words, "for the", if they are together, seems to be returning an error. If I only have "for" or "the" in the search, then everything is fine. But, I can have "for blah blah the" and it returns an error. It seems to be as long as those two words are in the search. I need help fixing this!

Do you have the problematic words listed in stopwords? If not, add them.

I just found this thread here. I'm having a similar problem. Did any of you find a fix?

Hard to know, when people never get back to you...
