• Relevanssi is working very well for us, but I am seeing a difference in the results when using the search form on the blog, blog.arkive.org, and when accessing a feed of the search results e.g. blog.arkive.org/search/tiger/feed.

Does anyone know if the Relevanssi plugin should be used when calling search feeds in this way? It would appear the WordPress is defaulting back to the standard search in these situations, and we need to be able to get a feed of Relevanssi results.

    Thanks!

  • I’ve never given any thought to search feeds and wasn’t actually aware of their existence. It’s very likely Relevanssi won’t work with them.

Thanks for your reply, that’s a shame. It’s a great plugin, but we’d really like to show a dynamic list of relevant blog posts on pages on our other websites, using a live search feed. I’ll try some other search plugins and see if any support that.

Any other suggestions to solve this most welcome.

I don’t know how the search feed is built, but it probably doesn’t trigger the search for Relevanssi. I’ll have to dig through the source code a bit to find out if there’s something that can be done, but right now it looks like a lot of work for a feature that very few people are going to use, so don’t hold your breath.

It’s a pretty cool idea what you’re doing, by the way.
