I just released my third little plugin, that might be useful to other users, since it seems there isnt such a plugin so far (at least G**gle told :-) )
WP-Forum Latest Posts surprisingly lists the latest posts from your WP-Forum. There are some option to customize the output and others.

ok since you brought this up. Can someone tell me that the WP-Forum is a plugin of wordpress? coz i cant see it on the list of compatible plugins in 2.6.
I just found this link after i click on "WP-Forum Latest Posts"
