    Hi all,

    During the development of our website we chosed to go with register-plus-redux but we've done some extensions which we wanted to share and hopefully get upstream to the main-trunk.

    Everything isn't finished yet but the information and patches is available here: http://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/1287

    Changes:
    - Standard WP fields migrated to the Custom fields section (these are not modifiable but they are movable)
    - Alternative to add "Section Title" which is suitable if you want to divide
    - All standard WP fields can now be placed as wanted like the custom fields
    - Password field has been added to control the placement of password

    Known issues:
    - General cleanup needed
    - Required fields needs to be written to the database during installation (firstname, lastname etc.)
    - Password field needs to be automatically added once enabled, workaround for now: Adding the type "Password field" to the fields and position it where you want to have it
    - Interoperability with account verification using theme-my-login doesn't seam to work properly

    Added updated patch http://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/attachment/ticket/1287/register-plus-redux.php.3.patch

    Added features:
    * Automatically add required fields to database on installation
    * "Beutification" of required fields, should probably be solved in a better way
    * Cleanup

    Outstanding issues
    * General cleanup
    * Automatically add password-field upon enabling user set password (worked a bit on this but I need to go back to the drawing-board as I ran into some issues)

    Other:
    * Interoperability with theme-my-login was caused due to a bug in theme-my-login, patch provided http://wordpress.org/support/topic/plugin-theme-my-login-register_redirect-doesnt-honor-redirects-made-by-other-plugins?replies=1

    Updated patch: http://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/attachment/ticket/1287/register-plus-redux.php.7.patch

    Bugfixed:
    * Bugfixes for AlterProfileForm (mainly due to the fact that someone decided to have different POST and show variables)

    Known issues:
    * Upon adding the Password field all show/require settings are set to the field above it, probably an easy fix

    So, this looks cool @garnser - at the end of the day, is the intent to have the plugin revised to this functionality through an update, or just used by those wanting what you built for your use? I don't diddle in the codex too often, so it's a general question, but specific to your work.

    Hey guys, so, yeah, I thought I should weigh in on garnser's changes. I do appreciate his/your effort, but I'm not entirely comfortable with his changes yet. I'm trying to get to the same mindset, but I'm just not quite there yet, the changes are nice and I don't think they break anything (so far as I can tell) but they aren't quite the way I would do them. So, if I can help garnser in any way keeping up his changes, great, but these changes aren't going to be landed as is, I will try to implement the same features and this gives me a great place to start.

    Can someone tell me what's happened to Register Plus redux? People seem to rave about it, then it's vanished with no explanation I can find.
    Thx
