    I've opened Ticket #1292 at the WordPress Plugins Trac system, reporting both problems.

    @dglingren Great! Hopefully this fix will get rolled in to the next release. I am having the same "Sorry redirect not created" issue on a Windows-based box, but strangely not seeing the error on a *nix-host (same versions of WP and plugin). That is strange since the PHP/MYSQL stuff should cause same success/fail.

    Thanks @dglingren

    I'm with @Sith Lord Goz though as my plugin works without applying this fix.

    I do think than there is an issue further back in the code, relating to the Groups and their association with a redirection item.

    Regards,
    Wil.

    It may be a version-related issue of some sort. I should have posted this information in my initial report:

    SERVER_SOFTWARE Apache/2.2.14 (Win32)

    PHP/5.2.12

    MySQLClient API version 5.0.51a

    Guys,

    Thanks for the debugging work. I didn't see this thread (nor the plugin trac ticket, which seemingly does not get emailed to me). Fixes will be in the next version.

    Looks fixed with v 2.2.5

    Thanks!

    I have Redirection v. 2.2.5 on WP Multisite 3.1.

    I am still receiving the "Sorry, but your redirection was not created" when trying to create new redirections.

    I tried looking at the redirect.php code as was mentioned earlier in this thread, but the $regex and last_access lines look like they have now changed and I don't think I want to follow the suggestion made earlier.

    Any ideas why I might still be getting this error?

    In the pluging settings, what do you have under Groups and the WordPress module?

    There is currently nothing listed under the Groups section or the Modules section.

    When I try to add a group or module, nothing happens. It replies that I have not entered anything.

    Yup.

    Although some people have reported the new version fixing their issue, I think there is still a problem deeper in the code relating to groups and their association with a redirection item.
    Rich do you have access to the WP database via phpmyadmin or equivalent?

    Rich,

    I know it's a pain just now but try adding this stuff manually.

    Have a look at the wp_redirection_modules table.
    You should at least have 1 entry for type="WP", name="WordPress"

    (if not then the plugin has not installed/initiated correctly)

    Note the ID of that entry and create a new row in the wp_redirection_groups table.

    id=1
    name="Redirections"
    tracking=1
    module_id=1 (or whatever from wp_redirection_modules)
    status="enabled"
    position=0

    Now switch back to WordPress and see if you can add a new redirection item.

    If not then back to phpmyadmin and create the following in the wp_redirection_items table
    id=1
    url="/pooky.html"
    regex=0
    last_count=0
    last_access="0000-00-00 00:00:00"
    group_id=1
    status="enabled"
    action_type="url"
    action_code=301
    action_data="/pooky/"
    match_type="url"
    title=NULL

    Once created you should be able to edit that in WordPress and create new redirection items.

    Let me know if this helps.

    Hi Wil,

    Thanks for the phpmyadmin instructions.

    I am using WP 3.1 multisite, and for sites that I had already made redirections (with the earlier version of the plugin), I can make new redirections with no problem.

    However, on one of my sites I had not made redirections before, and it is on this site that I am getting the "Sorry, but your redirection was not created" error.

    I was planning on using your steps above, but how do I know I am applying the steps to the specific site within my multsite system?

    Thanks for clarifying.

    Hey!

    I'm running Redirection 2.2.5 on WP 3.1.3 and facing the same problem. I cannot create any module, neither any redirection. I followed instructions suggested by many helpful people, but couldn't make anything work. Because there is no table created by the plugin. I uninstalled and reinstalled the plugin several times but no success. There is no table item that could be used by the plugin.

    I wonder if I should create my own tables so that plugin could make use of them or wait for an update?
