Redirection
Need help finding 404s before Google does (1 post)

At the suggestion of technical support at my server company, I've installed Redirection on one of my websites that was generating a lot of 404s in webmaster tools.

To say I'm not a technical person would be a huge understatement. But I've managed to create a few websites that are doing okay.

I've set up some redirects with this plug-in without any problem, but I can't figure out how to do anything else.

I would be most grateful if someone would explain to me in simple terms how to set the options so that Redirection notifies me of 404s that need to be redirected before Google finds them.

Also, is there a way to check for duplicates? I had done a lot of redirects using my host company's C-panel, but technical support said there were a lot of duplicates (which they generously cleaned up for me), and that's when they said I need this plug-in.

Any easy-to-understand help will be greatly appreciated. I've looked on you tube but only found tutorials for creating the 301s, which I already know how to do.
