I'm using Redirection for 404s and I have been seeing a lot of strange 404 urls in the log.

    They typically look like this:
    /updates/wp-includes/js/thickbox/loadingAnimation.gif

The first segment of the URL changes but they all are related to loadingAnimation.gif.

I have hundreds of these in the log per week.

Does anyone have any troubleshooting tips?

    Thanks!

I am a novice- I need help plse. my site is kamychetty.com

Hi Kamychetty, have you tried to clear your browser cache?

I should also mention that all this started when I tried to use a redirection plugin and I think that's what's wrong- the page is now redirecting to a page that isn't there- so I think I stuffed it up but now I can't undo it. I tried reloading wordpress and deleting all plugins but unfortunately no luck- it's just not working- I even went to my server but I can't seem to fix this redirection problem and it seems to continuously redirect to a non-existent page- so I need to know how to undo the redirection and will need step by step directions as I don't know how to do this
    Thanks

Whenever I corrected a faulty rule in the Redirection plugin, it won't take effect until I clear my Firefox cache. The updated rule does effective on the server immediately, it is just my Firefox remembers the old redirection rule and heads off to the old wrong destination right the way. Only after clearing the cache, Firefox sends the source URL to the server and the Redirection plugin has the chance to tell Firefox the new destination.

    Hope it helps.
