A little more detail would be helpful. If it were poorly written, would there have been 712 downloads last week with only one person not able to use it? “Breaks Install” tells me nothing. If you want it to work, then tell me what you mean by that. It works, it is not poorly written, and you must be doing something wrong.

So, tell me, what version of WordPress? What theme? What other plugins? It is likely something is conflicting with this plugin. I cannot test everything, but if you tell me what is wrong maybe I can fix it. If you don’t, then I guess I can’t fix it and you can’t use the plugin.

Fair enough, though the downloads I suspect are more hopeful than effective. I myself have downloaded and tried to use your plug-in three times.

I don’t recall exactly why I didn’t use it the last two times, except for the facts that (a) my purpose was the same then as it is now and (b) it didn’t work; this time however:

    1. It asked for an upgrade on installing
    2. Gave an error message on running the upgrade
    3. ‘Insufficient permissions’ to access page when I tried again
    4. ‘Insufficient permissions’ to access other WordPress pages too
    5. All well after un-installing plug-in

I didn’t feel like spending the amount of time as I did in the past and quickly un-installed it as it wasn’t even working on a default WordPress install. Now I’m exploring the wiki route to host my recipes and have given up the idea of doing it on WordPress, though I confess your plug-in did bring in a great deal of hope.

    WordPress version: 3.0.5
    Theme: Default
    Other Plugins: Default

I understand your point about not being able to test everything and I’m happy to help you fine tune the plugin; editor@chefatlarge.in

    Stay well.

It certainly should not have told you to do an update, but I now see why it is doing that and I am fixing that. I will install the plugin on a fresh install and see what happens – then fix any issues. If you prefer to go the Wiki way that’s certainly up to you, but I do thank you for providing the details so I can fix it for others.

    Nice. 🙂
I’d much *much* rather go with WordPress. What I’m looking for are:

    1. An import method
    2. Search
    3. Display

I have about 160,000 recipes to upload and share, which I would like to do separate from my main site.

    Stay well.

I am definetly going to be adding an import feature. The plugin had one in the past but when I switched to post types the import feature no longer worked. What format will you be using?

    Thread Starter sidkhullar

    (@sidkhullar)

    Right.
The recipes are in Meal Master format. However, I’ve already written a parser to convert to HTML files or transfer to MySQL. I should therefore be able to write to any format that works for you.

Perhaps the time is right to come up with an XML based recipe schema or use an existing one and ditch all the older ones.

    Can’t wait. 🙂

    Stay well.

One of the primary reasons I was/am going with the wiki format is because I found an importer that imports HTML files into the wiki, a format I can easily generate.

I did have an importer in the past for RecipeML format, so that is one that I will be adding first. If you can point me to a location to get a Meal Master file I might consider adding that as well.

Could you mail me at editor@chefatlarge.in?
I’ll send you one. It’s a fairly simple format.

    Stay well.

Just released version 2.1.1 that includes an importer for the MealMaster format. Enjoy.

I am trying to find out whether you can choose the ingredients (previously created) as you do with the size (I have version 2.2, the last one I think).

Another question: Is it possible to make the recipe appear with the other normal posts, not in a separate directory?. I have been playing with the permalinks and when I choose /%postname%/ nothing appear.

I am using Suffusion 3.7.8 theme.

    Thanks in advance.
