Really simple Facebook Twitter share buttons
Multisite headache and template function lack (2 posts)

I enabled this on a local install of a multisite to test things, and was greeted with:

    • By default it inserts into post excerpts etc, breaking the theme horribly
    • There is no mechanism to change the settings across a whole network or specify the defaults, using this would have forced me to uncheck a checkbox potentially 100 times
    • While there is a template function to place the buttons where you want, there is no way of disabling the functionality programmatically without going in and unchecking every checkbox prior, meaning I have to remove the filters added, making half the options page unusable
    • The function that is provided does not show a twitter URL meaning the user has to copy paste the url, defeating the whole point of the sharing plugin
    • The facebook like button did not behave as expected, no errors or warnings given

    Hi Tom:

    * As stated in the FAQ, if you don't want to see the plugin in action with excerpts (or your theme uses excerpts to do other things) you can uncheck all the "Show buttons in these pages" options in the Settings->Really simple share menu, except for "Single posts"
    * We've never tested the plugin in a multisite environment and we haven't received any request on this topic before; we'll study the issue and eventually release an update
    * I'm not really sure I got it: you can disable the functionality programmatically by unchecking all the "Show buttons in these pages" options in the Settings->Really simple share menu. Does it work for you? Or are you talking again about a multisite environment? In the latter case, we'll study that question too
    * What do you mean when you say "a twitter URL"? the permalink url of the post/page is automatically added inside the tweet ... does it work for you?
    * May you be more specific when talking about the Facebook Like button? What behaviour did you expect?

In order to understand some of your questions, may you tell us (in private, if you prefer) your website url os show some screenshots of the issues you noticed?
