Hi,
the switcher on nav menus changes the language for you edit separately before save. If you don’t see any change must be because the titles of your content ( posts, pages, etc ) didn’t translated before and are the same.
Try to translate the titles of the contents before creating menus.
I hope was helpful.
Greetings.
Thanks Carlos (and many thanks for the plugin! 🙂 ); now I created a new page, translated its title, added a new item to my nav menu and it works.
Little problem :): I already have several menus with a lot of items on 3 levels so I can’t create them again. I’m having a look at the database if I can get it work but nothing up to now. Any hint?
Thanks

I’m sorry but for now the plugin don’t upgrade nav-menus created before installation of Qtranslate and Qtranslate slug…
I take note for include this on upgrading process 🙂
Would be very appreciated, thanks! (and it’s one of the reasons why I came back to qTranslate from WPML 🙂 )
For now I solved adding manually the qTranslate tags in the post_type nav_menu_item records.
Thanks for your quick answers, too.
Hi teonsight, would you be so kind and show me your manual solution? I have the same problem whith menu created before qtrasnlate was installed. Thank you
Hi Rain3r,
first of all be sure that all your posts/pages/categories are translated from the respective forms, then:
– open your phpMyAdmin to manage the DB
– go to table wp_posts
and click on the Search link
– make a backup :), then
– filter by post_type=nav_menu_item
– look for the non translated records (field post_title)
– modify the field, ie: ‘My menu label in italian’ becomes ‘<!–:it–>My menu label in italian<!–:–><!–:en–>My menu label in english<!–:–>
Hope this helps.
Hi.
I am kind of lost here. I have the same problems. Even if I click on the little flag on the bottom left and change the text of the menu it changes it in all the languages.
Is there an updated solution to the problem?
thanks
