Pro P is just great! As is the JW underlying it!
But, man, are videos loading slow! Its the buffer size...
I was looking through the code of the plugin, but I can seem to find the buffeering flashvar?
What is the default value and how can I change it?
Here are some links:
How-to-add-flashvar-buffering
JW wiki: FlashVars
Tried to implement, but failed,...
Can you please help?
Found it!
Around line 101 in pro-player.php, under the "var flashvars = {"
add a line:
bufferlength:'2',
The value is in seconds.
I've set it 0 - for instant playback...
Hope this helps someone!
Bye!
Nope! I was wrong... It was streaming from cache...
I seems to be the youtube thing (I'm streaming from Youtube exclusivly btw)...
So the question from the first post still stands.
It takes up to 6-7 seconds just to begin playing!!!
Terrible! I hate to give up on JW - its so feature rich...
Help!
@tylerr
I understand ur issue. It's not a plugins fault. It's kinda legal thing. I decided not to use YouTube videos directly from YouTube servers. I'm using transparent caches in between YouTube and your host.
In my tests here from work, from home and from my server I've never hit up to 5-6 seconds. My server generally hits within 1-3 seconds. I'll try to optimize as much as I can. But I can't promise any timing for that. I think I could give an option to hit directly Youtube servers or use transparent caches instead kinda.. IDK I'll look at it.
Best,
Isa
i having the same problem with a flv file played from the site server, the file is 6.39 MB
