   FYI - when using the post-by-tag shortcode in a post with comments, the comments_number function reports the wrong comment count

   That's really strange. Let me have a look at it.

   Is it happening consistently for you?

   yes, every post. as soon as i remove the shortcode the comment count returns to its correct number. thanks!

   I tried to replicate it on my dev server but couldn't :(

   Can you give me additional information like whether it is happens only in the posts or both in posts as well as pages. Also let me know if you are using any Plugin which deals with comment count etc.

   Also let me know if the comment count is displayed before or after the post content
