Post Expirator
Automatically set Expiration date to Publish date (4 posts)

I'm planning to use this plugin on an event site where I publish future events, and the event time is the set to the post publish time. I'd like to post to expire as soon as the event has started without having to set this manually for every post.

Is it possible to do some minor changes to the code so that the plugin automatically uses the publish date and time as the expiration date and time?

Thank you in davance for any help with this.

    Regards,
    Jens

I've been working on a number of changes soon to be released. I just added in an option to set the default duration for the expiration time. I also added an option to configure it to use the post time.

You can test it out here: http://downloads.wordpress.org/plugin/post-expirator.zip

    Hi Aaron,

First things first great plugin, just what I was after.

I've just downloaded the pre-release version and noticed you can set custom values for expiration. Would it be possible to set this to a year from post publication through the interface or will that require a bit of fiddling with the PHP? I'm happy to try and get the code to it myself just wondered if there was a nice simple solution.

    Thanks,

    Runsoncoffee.

You can set a custom value of "+1 year" which will change the default expiration date that appears to be 1 year from time the post expirator is enabled for that entry
