• I’ve been messing around with a number of different multi-lingual solutions for WordPress recently, and just wanted to point out that the PolyLang plugin does an excellent job of handing database queries in comparison to many of it’s competitors.

I’ve been having all sorts of difficulties dealing with query counts over 400, and on changing to the PolyLang plugin this plummeted to way below 100. On a highly complex site utilizing extensive use of the database and limited caching, some other plugins can easily cripple a site, but this does not appear to be so with the PolyLang plugin.

Thumbs up to the author 🙂

Thank you for your positive feedback. Even if Polylang is still far from perfet, I am glad to see when people notice the effort I put on performance issues 🙂

    That’s true !
In my website, anyone page have more 100 queries.
Hovewer, Polylang use 50% of all of my plugins ^^
For this stat, I use P3 – Plugin Performance Profiler. May be, you can optimize (again) your (already) excellent plugin 😉

50% is of system resources is still considerably less than many other multi-lingual plugins.

Some of my colleagues are experiencing some issues with Polylang rewriting queries in strange ways. I haven’t looked into where the problems lie, but there do appear to be some oddball things going on under the hood. They may be sending through some fixes if they can nut out a solution to them. On the whole does appear to be working just fine though.

As I have very rare access to the internet at the moment, the answer can com late.

Thanks. The lack of a message arriving just explained why I’ve received such a tiny amount of email lately …. my contact form is broken 🙁
