• I updated to 8.8.8 today and just discovered that Podpress had ‘stolen’ other audio files from my blog that weren’t podcasts AND some links to outside podcasts and fed them to iTunes. Not cool because it’s not really my content.
Not only audio files. basically all my posts. I guess only ones with audio are showing up in itunes? But others are showing up in the feed.

Please, use the current Development Version which will limit the posts in the feed with the name “podcast” to posts with podPress attachments again.

Please, explain that a little bit more. “other audio file”? from the blog? or from a certain feed?

I guess only ones with audio are showing up in itunes?

No. iTunes shows also for instance video files or PDF Documents if they are enclosures of items in the feed.

Whew! That did it. My feed is back to normal. I cleared the posts in my itunes browser and then refreshed the feed and the articles that shouldn’t be there are gone. They are still in any cached feeds, like my Google Reader, but so be it. Thanks Tim. This is a hefty plugin that has to cover a lot of ground and I appreciate that it must take a lot of your time and energy. Thanks for making it!

I use the wpaudio plugin to publish short clips of audio that illustrate a point in blog posts. It seemed like posts that had those audio clips went to itunes. In at least one case, where I had linked to another podcast, that showed up in the itunes feed, ie. nothing to do with my site other than that I had a link to it.
In the Google Reader feed it seems like the last 10 blog posts showed up whether they included audio or not.

My podcasts are kept in a separate directory and for those posts the podpress info pane shows the correct information.
8.8.8. hadn’t added any information to the podpress info pane, the posts that weren’t podcasts were empty.
