I have used PodPress on a few other sites and love it. But I just installed at:

    http://www.gbcaz.org/2011/10/debt-and-the-gospel-part-1/

If you click the download link, or the audio link you can see the my file is in the correct place, ie no broken link, but yet the player is NOT working.

is it because I have the files in /media instead of the /wp-content/uploads folder??

    Any help would be appreciated.

Which web browser do you use? Which device or OS?

I have opened this post a minute ago with Firefox 7.0.1 and IE 9 on a Win 7 computer and I had no problem playing the episode with the flash player or the HTML5 browser player (of IE) on the single post view of this post.

I found that Chrome (14.0.835.202) is not playing the episode. I have also copied the URL of the audio file and tried to open it directly with Chrome. Usually that works. But in case of this file Chrome does not play it with its own player.
But the other two browser which are able to play that file with their own player (Safari and IE 9) have no problem with that file.

It is a problem between Chrome and that file.

Maybe re-encode that file and check your the settings of this actions.
Or does this problem occur with other files too?

you're right! I played in safari and it worked. Why would CHROME not play it?

I am on Mac OS 10.7 with Chrome/Safari/FF all available.

I don't know. But I have tried it also with Chromium 9.0.597.98 (an older Chrome version) and that version has also no problem playing this file.
It seems to be a problem of this file and newer Chrome versions.

Since it is not only a problem of one of the last episodes, it is probably not only an issue of the encoding of the files. But maybe try to re-encode one file maybe with a different software or maybe with a different sampling rate.
The current version of Chrome is able to play other mp3 files (which are also added with podPress to posts in a WP blog.). I have tried in my test blog: e.g. "http://undeuxoutrois.de/wp/allgemeines/post-with-display_podcast".

An easy way out of this at least until a new version of Chrome comes out might be the possibility to deactivate the HTML5 player and let podPress show always the flash player (e.g. 1PixelOut player). You can find this option on the Player settings page of podPress. It is called "Use HTML5 tags". un-check the box and all browsers with Flash support will show the flash player (like you can see it currently with Firefox).

Sorry - didn't realize you were the same person.

Your solution worked :) I deactivated HTML 5 tags. If I understand correctly, this will now limit the ability to play across iOS devices? For now, I think that's better than not being able to play across all desktops :)

    Thanks for the great support.

btw, do you have walkthroughs for how to submit to iTunes?

    Yes, that is correct.

do you have walkthroughs for how to submit to iTunes?

There is a information page from Apple:
