I have a long established site which was running 8.8.10.9 until tonight.

I added my first post in a while to my "Podcast" category and also cross posted it to my "Announce" category. A couple of days later I noticed iTunes had not downloaded it. I went and checked the post and it seems fine, but it does not show up in the category feed for Podcast (regardless of iTunes).

Oddly, a friend says his iTunes downloaded the audio file as per usual with no intervention.

I've now upgraded to 8.8.10.12 but still have the problem.

The post shows up fine in the main site feed and the enclosure is correct there as far as I can tell (it looks like all the others) and the player works fine on the post too.

What am I missing? Or did the double category when I originally posted cause this?

    For reference:

    Full blog feed = http://sittingduckpodcast.com/feed
    Podcast feed = http://sittingduckpodcast.com/feed/podcast

"SDP 217, maybe" is the post that does not show up in the latter feed but does in the main feed.

"SDP 216 - The one for which I have no title" is the previous post in the Podcast category (and with enclosure) which shows up (as expected) in both.

The "SDP 217, maybe" post is in both of the feeds - with an enclosure.
It is also in the feed of the category "podcast" http://sittingduckpodcast.com/category/podcast/feed

Did you use your web browser to control the changes in the RSS feeds? Same browsers like the Firefox browser store the feed for a certain time in a cache memory and if you want to see the modifications imediatly then you need to clear the browser cache before you reload the feed. Some Feed reader client and e.g. Feedburner behave also like this.

    Thanks for your response.

I did clear out the cache. I thought. And I used a second browser which I haven't used for months and it didn't show up there either, where cache shouldn't have been an issue.

But as you say, it's in the feed now. Odd. But fixed. Somehow.
