    Hello,

Thank you for the great tool.

I was wondering if it is possible to work on the ability to have the PodPress settings on a post be updated when/if a category is changed to the selected categories podpress settings for that post?

This would also help change the settings if a category is mis-set.

Again, thank you for the great tool.

    Chris

    Hi Chris,

I welcome new ideas and often I'm trying to implement them. But I believe that I don't understand your idea.
Which podPress settings should be updated? One of the "Post specific settings for iTunes:"?

Do you want to have function, a button a an other element to modify the category or tags of posts with podPress attachment at once?

    Regards,
    Tim

ps: Thank you for the flowers! :)

    Here is a little background:

The users on this website will post the Mp3 of the different podcasts they produce. There are 6 different podcasts so we use Categories to manage the different settings, Art work, iTunes settings, information for the RSS feed for that podcast, etc. When they miscategorize the post with a different podcast show then the one they are doing, the Podpress settings are for the show that its categorized to. If they go back and edit the post and set the correct category, the PodPress settings don't change to the new category setting.

I would like to ask that when changing the category on a blog post, that the podpress settings change as well automatically.

Thanks for explaining the issue a little bit more.

Do I understand it correctly?: If you change the category of a post with a podcast episode from category a to category b then the post does not show up in the feed of category b. (But it still shows up in the feed of category a.)
That should not happen and it could be a bug. But viewing modifications in a RSS feed e.g. with a web browser can be tricky. Some web browsers like the Firefox load the feed content, store it in a cache memory and refresh it only after some time (like 24h). You can click on reload and Firefox will do something but it does not load the modified version of the feed and it may look like changing the category of the post has no effect.
But you can clear that cache memory and force the browser to load the modified feed immediately.

(BTW: Feed Proxy Services like Feedburner or the iTunes store are caching also the RSS and ATOM feeds and refresh the data only after a certain time period.)

If I'm wrong then please tell me which podPress settings should change when the category of a post has changed. (Settings one can modify in the podPress box below the post editor? Certain settings on a page where you can customize a category feed?)

Sorry I am not explaining this correctly.

This is a podpress settings request.

Category A has podpress settings for the podcast "People Doing things." It has the logo, itunes settings, owners, creators, keywords, and descriptions set for it in the Category A Podpress settings.

Category B has podpress settings for podcast "Cat vs Dogs on the internet." It has the logo, itunes settings, owners, creators, keywords and descriptions set for it in the Category B Podpress settings.

A author wants to post the new podcast for "People doing things" podcast. They create a new post. Add all the needed content, then mistakenly set the category B. The Category would set the PodPress settings appropriately for that Blog Post in the RSS feed.

If they set the wrong category for the new post, and go back to edit the post, changing the Category from A to B, the podpress settings will still be set to the Category A settings and not updated to the new category settings. They do not change when the category is changed.

I would like to ask if it is possible to add the feature that updates the Podpress settings when changing the category.

the podpress settings will still be set to the Category A settings and not updated to the new category settings. They do not change when the category is changed.

I definitely understand what the author is doing. But I still don't know which settings do not change when the author changes the category of an existing post.
