• Hello,

I want to run multiple podcast feeds from my website. I saw there are two ways to do this (category casting and custom feeds using the filters). I seem to be having problems with both methods.

With category casting: I don’t see any podpress options when I try to edit a category (see this image). Do I have to enable this somewhere?

My other problem is that I have a theme (Glory) which creates a custom post type (video posts). This custom post type has it’s own category structure separate from the normal post types, and doesn’t show up in the podPress filter options. Is there any way to rectify this or would that require a lot of custom coding?

This is a compatibility issue of podPress 8.8.10.13 and WP 3.5. Thank you for reporting it and for posting a screenshot!
I added a bug fix to the current Development Version of podPress (see section Other Versions) which may use until 8.8.10.14 will be released.

Custom post type post have own feeds like example.com/feed/?post_type=podcast. podcast is the slug name of the custom post type in this example.
You can customize that feed with podPress only by adjusting the settings in the section Settings for the default Feeds on Feed/iTunes Settings page of podPress.

    Hi Tim-

Same problem- should I enable the Dev version of podpress?

So- we’ve been able to post to those categories for the past week or so- no problem. We have something like 20 category podcast feeds. This is one:

I have 3 more shows to add, but can’t add the podcast stuff. See Screenshot:

Thanks for all your continued help, Tim.

Before I upgrade to the Dev version, can you instruct me on how to do so? I know there’s a step by step here somewhere….

    Hi Dan,

yes, using the Dev version is my suggestion for you too.

    – make a backup of your data base
    – download the Development version
    – delete the old podPress files and folders
    – open the Plugins > Add new page of the blog
    – choose Upload and select the podpress.zip file
    – and install it

    An alternative would be:

    – make a backup of your data base
    – download the Development version
    – unpack the podpress.zip file on your (local) computer
    – start an FTP program and connect to the server where the blog is
    – upload the files and sub folder to your server and overwrite all existing files or folders of the plugin

    Tim
