I'll attempt to fix with first disabling some plugins and isolate the cause of error. Any ideas are welcome. I'll post results later.

That's fixed in the development version.
I'm also while I'm in mysubblog.example.com I am getting the following:
Check out our Upgrades for more features and enhancements. Dismiss
I click on dismiss and no change. I am not getting the message while i'm in example.com

uploaded the development version, fatal error repeats
the "Check out our Upgrades..." ticker works - when I click the "dismiss" link, the ticker closes.
i tested this on non-super-admin account, and super-admin account.

Did you replace the entire set of plugins?
6 plugins, yes
Note to self: When activating "Super Admin Plugin Manager" don't forget to activate "Super Admin Menu Manager" because you'll get an fatal error when you're trying to add new premium items.

The fix for that is in the dev version.
In addition to the 6 plugin files. make sure you update the lib folder as well. That's where both the original issue and the error on save were fixed.
