• Good plugin, but I’m surprised that it ignores the WP privacy settings. This is somewhat of a concern when you’re developing a site that’s not live yet and you want to get everything configured with your plugins, etc. When it’s time to go live, you simply unblock the site in the WP privacy setting and you’re good to go – WP removes the noindex nofollow robot meta tag. This plugin ignores that setting – once more, it writes an opposite robots index and follow meta tag BELOW the nofollow noindex robots meta tag that WP writes when the site is set to private. Fortunately WP also writes a robots.txt file which blocks the entire web directory and search engines should obey this first, but it would be nice if Platinum checked the privacy settings first and set the robots meta tags accordingly just to make double sure that the site doesn’t get indexed prematurely while it’s in dev.
