This plugin is for posting things from Ping.fm to your blog. You can ping from the dashboard, email, phone, or an app that supports Ping.fm. Also, by default, only status updates from Ping.fm will show up in the widget.

Well… As Matt told me, this plugin is for posting things from Ping.fm to my blog, not from my blog to twitter, facebook, google buzz, etc, through ping.fm

Sorry for the mistake… Do anyone knows about a plugin that does that?

    Thnaks for your time!

    No problem. 🙂

Any ideas why Ping.fm plugin in my Genesis/WordPress website works when posting through Ping FM dashboard or HootSuite connection, but not on one of my client’s sites also on the Genesis/WordPress framework/platform? I get “Could not establish connection with URL” error. Tried generating a new key and even uninstalling/reinstalling the Ping.fm Custom URL plugin. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I’d need more information in order to give you a better answer, but some thoughts off the top of my head are:

    • Is the web server Apache or something else?
    • Are there any security plugins on the site that’s not working?
    • Anything interesting in the logs?
    • Can you hit the generated URL through a browser?
    • Is there any plugin installed that could be messing with custom post types?

Thanks for the prompt response Matt! See below for my answers and additional comments or questions:

    Q. Is the web server Apache or something else?
    A. Apache

    Q. Are there any security plugins on the site that’s not working?
    A. Not that I could tell

    Q. Anything interesting in the logs?
    A. No

    Q. Can you hit the generated URL through a browser?
A1. Client’s WP site goes to “Page Not Found” error page.
A2. My WP site says “ERROR: No direct access allowed. Post something from Ping.fm instead.” Note: My site seems to post tests using PingFM and HootSuite dashboards.

    Q. Is there any plugin installed that could be messing with custom post types?
    A. Not that I can tell. Client’s site is a Genesis/StudioPress framework for a real estate broker. Any certain plugin types I should look into?

    Thanks again for any suggestions!
