    Pinterest currently doesn’t have an open api.

    Hi,

    How do plugins like http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/pinterest-image-pin/ work then?

    I’m sorry, but it seems a little silly to feature a photo sharing plugin that doesn’t support sharing with Pinterest.

    They help the wp admins to set simple pinterest button on their site, this can be done by grabing the pinterst button out of pinterest website.

    they don’t have any insights regarding the sharing process (clicks, impressions, returning visitors etc.).
    in order to get analytics on the sharing process at your site you’ll need full integration with pinterest services.
