[resolved] Chmod Error (6 posts)

    hey there..
    I just install this plugin and it does not work...

    i m getting this error, where it supposed to show:

    Warning: copy(/home/user/public_html/wp-content/plugins/phpfreechat/src/../data/public/themes/zilveer/images/pfc_online.png) [function.copy]: failed to open stream: Permission denied in /home/user/public_html/wp-content/plugins/phpfreechat/src/pfctools.php on line 179
    
    Warning: chmod() [function.chmod]: Operation not permitted in /home/user/public_html/wp-content/plugins/phpfreechat/src/pfctools.php on line 180

    okay i resolved that by chmod 777 to data dir(+sub dir)...
    but now it just says, " Chat Loading, Please Wait" I waited 15 minutes and it didnt work.
    ( the demo on your site, works fine on same browser)

    I tried both, php and sql one... both didnt work...

    any help please

    Well here's how it goes

    What your going to have to do is change the system ID in the phpfreechat settings from that md5 that you see there, just can be random nonsense

    then make sure the FIRST time you enter the chat is from the button that *other* people and yourself will always use, the phpfreechat cache's the structure based on clicking that button URI line that is found

    The other reason is the website design itself might not be conducive to using phpfreechat, you cannot have it in a site that uses absolutes thta position the portion that its going to be in.

    The last thing is that it uses innodb, innodb must be accessable to be used on your hosting. Without that it will not work.

    A good test to see if it works properly *after* you initialize it the first time with the url line that you would use to enter it is to go to

    http://yoururl.com/wp-content/plugins/phpfreechat/chat.php

    If the chat loads that way, then you know its the website design itself stopping it from loading.

    Thanks for your help, it works now...

    what i did was, to change theme to Twenty10 and it worked.. then i change back to my original theme and it still working :)

    But, the problem is, when I change sking from control pannel... It does not get change .. any idea?

    You have to type /rehash in the chat box for it to recache it's internal cache
