   I added in the max_msg parameter into the chat.php and phpfreechat.php files.

   It doesn't adhere to the rule though. I can't get it to work. I'd like it to NOT show any old chats to a new user when they log in.

   hrm, okay do you have a pastebin of how you wrote it? it could be something as simple as using the wrong array that gets sent to the class initialization

   Did you try rehashing? (/rehash) as indicated in article below:

   I am also trying to do the same and change the msg_max parameter but I cannot find the "index.php" file as indicated in the phpfreechat root directory.

   Am running wordpress 3.0.1
   Any suggestions or do you have to add the params to the chat and phpfreechat php files?

   Any help would be appreciated.

   3seven0: the index.php in THIS case would be the phpfreechat.net and chat.php files (both) inside the wp-content/plugins/phpfreechat directory .. those handle the wrapper for wordpress to work with
