   I have tried is plugin but it just outputs the php code in the post, why is this? please help me to get this to work.

   If the php code you are inserting cannot execute because of your host, it is not a defect of the plugin. Some domain hosts do not allow php scripts that rely on data outside of your domain, so first check with your host. GoDaddy is a host that is known to disable remote script calls for instance.
