Congratulation your Plugin for Flickr, Picasa… is the only one working perfectly with the WP 3.3.1. But unlike the rest Photonic doesn’t let you post a certain photo. You only can choose “Photos” and then “How many”. I think this is a really relevant option. Maybe I’m missing something. Are you planing to add something like this?

Thanks for you time and the good job for the community!
    Have a good day!

Well, if you know which photo you want, you can simply paste the link in your post: WP displays a Flickr image by itself if you paste its link. You wouldn’t require any gallery plugin for this.

Thanks for you reply. Yes, of course you can paste the link directly but you can not use the styles and the efects of Photonic. That would be nice and everthing would look more integrated.

Hello – how do I put in a picasa web album? What is the the format of the User ID? Do I just put in the album name?

    Thanks.

Hello – how do I put in a picasa web album?

    There is a tutorial: http://aquoid.com/news/plugins/photonic/picasa/

What is the the format of the User ID?

It is your Google ID. You could use both, your email (without @gmail.com) or the ID that is shown in Google Plus.

    Hello,

    My user id is xie3208080
    why it doesn’t show up?

    Here is my input:

    User ID: xie3208080
    Display: Albums
    Album: December 3, 2011
Number of photos to show: 5
    Thumbnail size: 75

    The automatic generated shortcode is:
    [gallery type='picasa' user_id='xie3208080' kind='album' album='December 3, 2011' max_results='5' thumbsize='75' ]

    The page is here:

As you can see, it’s empty.

What’s wrong with my input? Anything missing here?

    Thanks.

Yes, your album name is wrong. You need to use the album slug, not the title. For the slug you need to look at the URL – it will be something like December32011 (you have to verify this from your Picasa page)

Thanks but it still won’t show up after I made the change. For your information, here is the album:

    https://picasaweb.google.com/105135271018722635732/December32011

    The short code becomes:

    [gallery type='picasa' user_id='xie3208080' kind='album' album='December32011' max_results='5' thumbsize='75']

If you want to show the photos in an album, then instead of kind='album' say kind='photo'

Thank you, it shows up now, but can I set it as a slideshow?

    (@sayontan)

Thank you, it shows up now, but can I set it as a slideshow?

It will not show up as a slideshow in place. However you can configure it so that when you click on the first image it will start as a slideshow. To do this, go to Settings → Photonic → Generic Settings → Slideshow mode and set it to start as a slideshow.

    Thanks.

I put couple pictures in the album, can I show only one picture in my page and then clicking it will start a slide show?

    Plugin Author Sayontan Sinha

    (@sayontan)

A slideshow cannot start unless all pictures are loaded somewhere on the page you are seeing. The only way I can think of to address what you want is the way things are done here: http://aquoid.com/news/plugins/photonic/picasa/picasa-albums/

    Thank you for your reply.

I checked the link in your post, it’s really not working as I expect. Maybe I should turn to other solution. The problem is many slideshow plugins do not work with Picasa or have all kinds of restriction. If you can recommend a plugin working with Picasa that would be deeply appreciated.

Flickr is not prefered as they have limitations on number of pictures and creating gallery is such a difficult job, my accounts randomly give me gallery and the help never helps, no wonder Yahoo lost to Google.
