[Plugin: Photonic Gallery for Flickr, Picasa, SmugMug and 500px] Lightbox conflict (4 posts)

I am using Lightbox 2 for all my images in my blog. I recently installed Photonic. I observed few conflicts with Lightbox 2.
When I click the images, it opens both Lightbox 2 and Photonic display (FancyBox in my case), which of course can't be resolved until I disable one (as per comments in this forum). When I select "None" in Generic Settings, then Photonic (FancyBox) is disabled and so is Lightbox 2.
Now the issue is when you select none in Generic Settings, it should not disable Lightbox 2.

I can not disable Lightbox 2, as then all my images in blog will be affected, which is a quite huge number to reslove.

This is not an issue with Photonic. Basically Photonic is not interfering with Lightbox, but Lightbox is interfering with Photonic.

Most Lightbox plugins offer support for specific selectors to launch Lightbox. Photonic makes use of such selectors by specifically targeting elements with particular "rel" parameters. That is why Photonic doesn't touch images posted by other plugins. Conversely, it falls upon your Lightbox plugin to not touch images posted by Photonic (or any other plugin).

Typically this can be resolved by you or the plugin author by using the right combination of JQuery and regular expressions for the selector.

I agree, Lightbox 2 is conflicting with Photonic hence when clicking on Photonic Gallery (created by Flickr) it is popping up.
Considering, when Photonic gallery is set to FancyBox, ColorBox or PrettyPhoto, Lightbox 2 is able to accept the image link and display the image but when None is selected, Lightbox 2 is not able to load image (while it works with all other images on blog).

    Steps to recreate:

    1. Install Lightbox 2 and Photonic and activate both
    2. Post image link
    3. Create gallery with Photonic
    4. Lighbox pops-up for both link and Photonic gallery (along Photonic selection in Photonic gallery)
    5. Select None in Photonic. Lightbox 2 still works for image link and does not load image from Photonic gallery.

Please see if this explains the issue better. As a user I see that Photonic is doing a different kind of wrapping and unwrapping for image link that others are not able to process.

Well, others are not supposed to process those images (just like Photonic's Fancybox isn't supposed to get activated for other images). Each plugin is designed with an intention in mind, and Photonic's "None" option simply means you don't want any slideshow associated with the images.

In any case, I couldn't find the Lightbox plugin you are referring to. If you can point me to the plugin, I can see which script it is using, and if the script is GPL-compatible I can try and add support for it.
