Subscription Cancellation Error (7 posts)

This is what I received in an email from PMP, "There was an error canceling the subscription for user with ID=10. You will want to check your payment gateway to see if their subscription is still active."

The question is how does PMP cancel out a PayPal subscription?

So PMPro tries to use the PayPal API to cancel the subscription. If PMPro has a subscription ID but fails to cancel the subscription it sends this message.

Some typical reasons for this are:
    * The subscription was setup on the test gateway and you're on the live gateway now.
    * The subscription was already canceled on the PayPal side and not updated over IPN to PMPro.
    * Somehow PMPro has the wrong subscription ID.

So check your PayPal records and make sure that subscription is really cancelled. Then make sure that the user has their membership revoked in PMPro.

Where does PMP store the subscription IDs? Possibly be good if PMP would also store those IDs in a txt file. Which then survives a PMP full uninstall.

I suppose I could add code to make it a little smarter, but (1) this would be extra work for all gateways we integrate not just PayPal and (2) PMPro tried to cancel and failed. It's a big deal, and the admin for the site should get involved.

How would the admin for WP get involved? How about giving the option to export to a txt file?

I mean that the human running the site should look into why the membership didn't cancel.

So check your PayPal records and make sure that subscription is really cancelled.

Then make sure that the user has their membership revoked in PMPro.

    Contact the member if needed.

Not sure what you mean by exporting to a txt file. What do you want exported?

If PMP tracks or creates a log file for the PayPal transaction ID, then allow the option to export the transaction ID/user's PayPal email address as a txt file. If for any reason the plugin gets totally uninstalled and records deleted, the txt file will still be available. Does this sound practical?
