    Hey!

I know it need SSL connection but will you make a version or a update that makes it able without SSL? Because it use paypals connection for the safe content so i dont see a reason to have a require of SSL, and all web hotels dont support https, would really love if this was able without SSL!

    Thanks for an awesome plugin!

Meepixels, the plugin should work for you without SSL if you have it setup to use PayPal Express (or if you only have free membership levels).

If you want to use Website Payments Pro or Authorize.net, you need SSL (and more) for PCI compliance.

I've just updated the plugin to be a bit more friendly with hosts without SSL. Install the latest version and let me know if you are still having problems. I can address them.

    Thanks.

Is there a way to test the paypal integration without the SSL?
I have a web payments pro account with the real Api signature credentials in the WP area. And it keeps saying the member checkout for that level "page not found".

I have also tried with the paypal sandbox test credentials set to sandbox. And sandbox test credentials in the api fields and it still will not continue to the page. It says page not found.

I guess it won't generate the page without the SSL.
I see that I can test the free memberships.
Is there a way to test without the SSL?

    Thanks for an awesome plugin!

If you are using Website Payments Pro, i.e. taking credit card numbers through your website, then you need SSL on the site otherwise people's credit card numbers are going through the internet unencrypted.

Some info on PCI Compliance at PayPal:
    https://www.paypal.com/pcicompliance
    https://cms.paypal.com/cms_content/CA/en_US/files/developer/PP_PCI_Compliance_WhitePaper.pdf

You can probably use the pmpro_besecure hook to override the HTTPS requirement, but I'm not going to post that solution on a public forum or test for it. Sorry.
