Can you set a site-wide expiration date for everyone? I need to build a membership site where a term is from July 1 through June 30 of the following year. Is this possible with PMPro?

Here is some code that you can tweak and add to your functions.php to do something similar.

Thank you! You are the first person at any of the membership plugins to give me a solid answer. Very much appreciated!

No problem. We developed the plugin to be very flexible and developer friendly so it will support different use cases. Because we're 100% GPL and don't have to worry about our code being out there, we're able to share stuff like this easily.

    Good luck!

I'd like to see this as a standard feature of future PMP releases. First, an option to turn on expiration, then a conditional option that makes the membership expire on a given date, or you could choose after a certain amount of time. One or the other, or none at all.

It makes a PMP more useful to sites that don't operate year round. Classes, conferences, conventions - a bunch of organizations could benefit from the simple addition of Date of Expiration rather than your current stock countdown to expiry.

Don't get me wrong, I love that there's a fix - I'm just not pleased I had to go looking for something that seems elementary to your end product. I'd go as far to Highlight that in your plug-in's features once it's fully implemented.

    Cod, thanks for the feedback.

Some features like this do eventually make their way into the plugin, but I'm not sure if/when this one will. Generally, we want the settings/etc to stay streamlined with only the features that 80% of sites will use. For features that are used on a smaller set of sites, we expect people to get a developer (or purcahsed support) to write the few lines of code needed for their customizations.

This is part of our philosophy that separates PMPro from other membership plugins.

Still, not sure how this specific features will develop.
