   When using this under 3.3.1 it says 'updated successfully' but then all pages on the site throw a 404 and wp-admin is inaccessible.

   Deleted and restored database to get out of this, and repeated to confirm.

   Interesting... I am using the original PageMash with 3.3.1 and it works beautifully. Was going to upgrade to Super PageMaash until I saw your post. Thank you for saving me the agony!

   Hmm, I got a request from a client that wants to try out PageMash plugin... Backing up database! Let's give it a go!

   I switched to Page Order after my last post and like it much better than
   PageMash. Much cleaner and easier to update the page hierarchy. With PageMash I often had to go back in an re-publish each page before the new path took effect. With Page Order it is all automatic and reliable.

   i think for me it's a specific combination of very customised theme and backend, which i can only reproduce on this one site – probably safe for everyone else.
