[resolved] 'Restrict Access' possible only when EDITING pages/p (2 posts)

    Hi,

thanks a lot for this great plugin! I was just wondering why it is not possible to restrict access already at the stage of writing a new page/post. The respective box appears only when editing an already existing page/post. Is this a bug, or is it intentional?

    Thanks!

This is intentional. To make a long story short, it's a side-effect of building the Restrict Access sidebar to be a solely AJAX-dependent feature. When you're creating a new page, the record isn't in the database yet, so there's nowhere to save the metadata and it doesn't work. So, we simply hide the tool until after the page is created (the edit screen).

This feature may show up at some point down the road, but it's not super-high on the To-Do list.
