[Plugin: Page-Links-To] 'Open link in new window' not working

According to the plugin’s documentation, this bug has been fixed on version 2.6 (the most recent version).

However, I installed said version on my 3.3.1 WordPress and it appears that feature is still broken. I noticed other people have reported the same problem, but it seems no fix has been released so far. Are there any solutions to this?

If not, can anyone recommend similar plugins? As far as I could gather, Page-Links-To seems to be the only one to achieve the effect of making a WordPress page or post link to an external URL.
