• I’d like to put some custom content at the top of some of my category archives (but not be forced to create it for every one of them).

Is there a plugin or a hack that would let me do this, aside from creating custom, numbered category pages in my themes folder for each and every one?

  • Did you have a chance to take a look at the Category_Templates page in the Codex?

OOOOhhhh, okay, so I should just be able to stick something in there (hopefully images are ‘legal’) and it shows up at the top of the categories. But it’s not actually working. Whatever I put in Manage > Categories > (whatever category) doesn’t show up at the top of the category pages.

I’m going to try another installation tho to make sure I didn’t accidentally blow something away.

No, I’m not finding it. Obviously WP has some built-in capability for adding custom content to the top of particular categories, but it isn’t working (1.5). There seem to be hacks for this as well, but the ones I’ve tried are not working either.

Can anyone point me to something *semi* straightforward I could try?

EDITED: Okay, I seem to have it working now. I went straight back to the “default” installation and in that environment, it works. Good enough for me!
